There are great achievements of Stavropol state agrarian university celebrating 80-year-old anniversary to  be proud of. Today it is one of the best innovative high schools of the country and occupies the first line in a rating of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for 2007-2009 among agricultural higher educational institutions. Victories in the most prestigious international and All-Russia competitions, partnership with leading foreign high schools and scientific funds, membership in the largest educational and scientific associations of world level confirm that Stavropol State Agrarian University activity replies high European Educational standards.

By 80-year-old anniversary the Stavropol state agrarian university became the largest multifunctional high school of the country, the fundamental scientific researches centre. Today the University is widely known in the country and abroad for high quality of students training and the advanced scientific workings out. The university occupies the first line in a rating of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for 2007-2008 among agricultural high schools of the country. In 2009 the University became finalists of the most prestigious competition in the field of quality and got the prize of the European fund of quality management (EFQM) that was not possible to any Russian organization yet. This success was preceded by variety of achievements of the SSAU noted by high awards of the All-Russia and international level. Stavropol State Agrarian University became the winner of the Russian Federation Government award  in the field of quality of 2005 (for all history of existence of the award, only 5 high schools of the country, including our, have received such honour). Besides, for achievement of considerable results in training activity, introduction of effective management methods by educational process and of the experts preparation quality maintenance effective system creation the university has been recognized by the winner of the award of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation «Experts preparation quality maintenance systems for 2005».

In 2006 SSAU became the finalist of 2nd International tournament of the countries Central and the Eastern Europe on quality and has received the EFQM (the European fund of management of quality)certificate «The perfection Recognition in Europe – 4 *». Next year the SSAU has been recognized by the winner of tournament and has received the certificate «a perfection Recognition in Europe – 5 *».

In 2007 at competition of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the field of quality of production and services the university has got the award for introduction of highly effective methods of quality management and considerable achievements in the sphere of education,  science and research.

In 2007 the university, unique in Southern Federal District (SFD) , became the winner of the innovative high schools competition spent in the frame of the priority national project "Education", and has received the grant of 438 million rubles on realization of the innovative program «Innovative model academic-research-and-production cluster for effective system of professional training education in agrarian sector of economy». These means, and also own investments of the university at a rate of more 200 million rbl. are spent for creation of the innovative centers, equipment acquisition, retraining of the personnel and development of the international cooperation.

The 2010 anniversary year became rich on awards for SSAU. The Stavropol state agrarian university became the winner of the award «Leaders of economic development of Russia», founded by the International fund of development of "Eurasia" under support of the State Duma of the Russian Federation both handed over to the exemplary local and foreign enterprises, companies, organizations for high  economic growth and display of social responsibility level.

SSAU has been noted as «the Best company of year-2010». The award and the diploma, and also a badge of the winner of the award «Leader of economic development of Russia» have been handed over the rector of university Vladimir Ivanovichu Truhachevu. For achievements in the field of maintenance of quality of a national production in 2010 the Stavropol state agrarian university became the winner of the All-Russia competition of "100 best goods of Russia» and is awarded by a medal «Honours pupil of quality». Besides, the rector of the university is awarded the higher national award of social recognition of merits and achievements of citizens – awards and medals «Best teacher of Russia». Wide recognition Stavropol State Agrarian University has received and at regional level. The SSAU repeatedly became the winner of Stavropol Territory government competition for realization high-quality production and services and has been noted Gold and Platinum awards.

Stavropol State Agrarian University has been awarded a nominal memorable sign on Avenue of stars of Stavropol among the best organizations of Territory. Bookmark ceremony has passed in solemn conditions in the Day of Stavropol Territory (2006).

It not all university achievements thanks to which the university is reputed as the reliable creator of high-quality and competitive services at the international, Russian and regional levels. The system of quality management  certificated and introduced in May, 2006 according to the international standard ISO 9001:2008 helps to improve and work out high academic programs. Conformity acknowledgement to necessary requirements is provided with the Russian and European certificates of GOST Р, EFQM-5 *, IQNet, ЕVROSERT, QVALITY AVSTRIA.

In 2008 the university has passed social-professional accreditation spent under the aegis of the International union of public academies of Sciences following the results of which has obtained the certificate of compliance for a period of 5 years. 21 professional educational program has been accredited. In 2010 representatives of Agency on public control of quality of education and career development (АККОРК) have accredited 7 professional educational programs. It testifies that employers and investors are assured of quality of educational activity and high preparation of graduates of the university.

Now on internal and correspondence branches there are 72 professional educational programs (the magistracy and a bachelor degree) is trained over 16,5 thousand students. Preparation of academic scientific and pedagogical staff of the top skills is carried out on 35 specialities of postgraduate study and 8 on doctoral studies. At the university is trained over 400 post-graduate students, PhD and competitors of a scientific degree – graduates of ours and other high schools of the country. There are 5 doctor's councils on 12 specialities in the field of biological, agricultural, technical, veterinary and economic sciences.

Being guided by requirements of region and country needs in qualified experts, at the university new educational programs is opened. So, training in 25 directions of preparation with assignment of qualification "bachelor", 9  with assignment of qualification "master" and  16 programs of additional vocational training with term of development over 1000 academic hours only has over the last 5 years begun.

Today the University consists of 9 faculties, 57 departments, 90 innovative structural divisions, powerful research-and-production base, an academic research farm, library, a publishing house, and also 6 hostels, public catering industrial complex, a sports complex, horse-racing school and many other divisions. Training is spent in 42 fine lecture audiences, 83 audiences for seminar and practical training, 48 innovative educational-scientific laboratories equipped with the newest multimedia equipment, modern scientific-educational devices and other necessary equipment, and also in 6 language laboratories and 48 computer classes.

Training is conducted by highly skilled experts among them there are scientists with a world name, full members and member-correspondents of the state Russian Academies of Sciences (the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Academy of Agrarian Sciences, etc.) and the international academies. The share of teachers with scientific degrees and ranks makes 92 % (of them of 22 % – doctors of sciences, professors), and it is one of the highest indicators in the country. Middle age of the faculty is 38 years that became possible thanks to support by a management of high school of young talented teachers.

Advanced technology actively and scientifically-producing and information technologies take place in the educational process. So, distance education actively develops. In 2007 has begun to work the GDLN center (the Global network of Distance education), created on the basis of SSAU under the agreement with Institute of the World Bank. Together with the University of the State of Maryland (USA) in the frame of «Application of distant education: consortium development by regional distant education for experts in the field of higher education and agribusiness in the south of Russia» project realization on the basis of our university the Regional center by distance education is created.

The great attention is given to practical preparation of students. At the university are created unique production and training centers in which training classes as much as possible approached to practical activities. For example, the veterinary surgeons students are trained on the basis of the Regional centre of veterinary medicine equipped with the advanced unique equipment, that also there no analogues in the North Caucasian federal district. Technological management faculty students get necessary skills in the newest mini areas on dairy manufacture, meat and baking production. Students of economic specialties get acquainted with trade knowledge on the basis of the accredited centre of professional financially-analytical programs «Project Expert» and «Audit Expert», the authorized centre of «1С» firm certification, the world leader in the field of computer maintenance the "Microsoft firm " (the only center in the North Caucasus), educational-practical centers "Stock exchanges", «Insurance shop», "Minibank" and others. Here many technologies of the future – for example, progressive system 5NT (it allows to automate completely document circulation), applied in leading credit institutions of the world, including such large Russian banks, as Gazprombank, Impeks-bank and Vneshtorgbank are accessible.

In the University there is a firm cooperation between students and employers that helps to increase the student’s practical preparation. Nowadays it is concluded more than 150 contracts on practice passage at leading enterprises, in economy and the companies of a various profile and the research organizations, etc.

Among the main partners of the University are: the North Caucasian bank of the Savings Bank of Russia, Gazprombank, "Stavropolagropromsnab", "Stavholding", «the Scientific and technical centre», «ЮГПРОМ», enterprises "KavkazTranzGas" and «the Nevinnomyssk nitrogen», combine factory "ROSTSELMASH", Open Society Concern "Power measure", collective farms "Russia", "Kolos". There are also many other examples of cooperation. On the basis of laboratory "Minibank" the branch of the Educational centre of the North Caucasian bank of the Savings Bank of Russia where together with SSAU teachers programs aimed on preparation of experts for the biggest bank of the country are realized.

Quality acknowledgement of educational services given by Stavropol state agrarian university is invariably high competition among entrants (in 2009 as a whole on university it has made 7,5 persons into place), and also a demand of graduates (annually on a preparation profile in region remain to work about 95 % of graduates of the university)

The Stavropol state agrarian university – one of the largest science centers in the region. The university team conducts unique researches in many actual directions. Biotechnologies and bio- resources, information technology and methods of mathematical designing in economy, in agrarian and industrial complex are developed power saving up and recourse-saving technologies. For example, on the basis of the Regional centre of veterinary medicine workings out on allocation and use of stem cells for treatment of various diseases are actively conducted. Created at laboratory the genetic bank and artificial fertilization centre are the major link in animal industries of the North Caucasian federal district development. Many scientific researches of the university are spent together with leaders of scientific research institutes of Russia, nearby and far abroad.

Workings out of scientists are highly appreciated at the most prestigious international forums and salons. So, in 2009 12 innovative workings out of the university have been awarded gold medals at competitions of innovative biotechnological workings out and the International fund of biotechnologies after academician I.N.Blohinoj, spent in the frame  of III exhibition-fair "RosBioTeh". In the same  year the university became the winner of International fair «AGRORUS» for working out and manufacture of modern generation biologically high-grade premixes and AMVA (Albinotic mineral vitamine additives) on the basis of carotene elements mixture  inclusion and probiotics.

85,5 % of students are involved in research and patenting-inventive activity, from them more than half participate in scientific seminars, the conferences spent in the frame of the university. Over the last 5 years more than 900 various awards – diplomas, medals, certificates has been received by students. It is no wonder that the scientific student's society of SSAU is recognized the best in Russia. Throughout last years the university is the leader of Russian Federation Youth union of economists and financiers competitions and the Olympic Games by quantity of the presented scientific works and number of awards. The rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University Vladimir Ivanovich Truhachev became the winner of the VIII All-Russia Olympic Games of Russia national economy development in a nomination «the Best rector of the Russian high school on students research work organization system ».

To students and post-graduate students of the university for considerable successes in educational and scientific activity nominal grants are annually awarded. So, in 2006-2009 293 persons were nominal grant-aided students on 17 nominations (the President of the Russian Federation, the Government of the Russian Federation, the Russian agrarian movement – named after V.I.Vernadsky, V.Potanin's Welfare fund, the governor of Stavropol Territory, the head of administration of Stavropol, the president of Open Society of Concern "Power measure", holding company "Rosgosstrakh" and other organizations, and also the Academic council of university of S.N.Nikolsky, of V.I.Tjulpanova).

The university is actively included into the European both world educational and scientific space, in system of Bologna process. Today we have reliable partners in 59 countries of the world: such as Germany, Czech Republic, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Great Britain, the USA, Italy, China, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, etc. Interaction with the international universities-partners, public organizations, holdings, concerns, the companies and firms includes joint projects and grants, remote formation, an exchange of the faculty, the developed student's mobility, programs of industrial and language training of teachers, students and post-graduate students, a cultural exchange, the program of the double diploma and so forth.

Stavropol State Agrarian University is a member of the Great Magna Carta of universities (it includes 570 elite high schools of Europe) that testifies to conformity to the highest world standards of quality of educational services given by SSAU and scientific researches. Besides, the university is a member of the European association of the business uniting more of 650 largest world companies, the enterprises and organizations, a member of the European association of universities of natural sciences, the European council of business education and the European fund of quality assurance in the field of electronic training.

The Stavropol state agrarian university gives out the European Diploma Supplement which gives to graduates employment possibility abroad. In SSAU it is possible to receive the international degree of MBA (the Master of business administration). Now there passes the international accreditation of the academic programs of a bachelor degree and a magistracy of an economic and is natural-scientific direction. The accreditation is hold on by German experts  from FIBAA fund and ASIIN agency.

In Stavropol State Agrarian University the concept of person education is realized, fine conditions for potential disclosing, various abilities and talents of students are created. It is no wonder that young people often please us with the public, labor, creative and sports successes. So, in 2009 the social group of high school "Care" has been recognized the best on the All-Russia meeting of student's groups of the universities by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. the Stavropol state agrarian university student's self-management model has occupied  the I^st  place in Stavropol Territory and II^nd  place in the All-Russia competition of the Russian Federation Ministry of Education and Science.

On the basis of the university it is annually spent more than 160 actions (every possible festivals, competitions, the concerts dated by various holidays, Games and competitions, active schools, days of career and fair of vacancies) for students.

In April, 2010 the Stavropol state agrarian university became the winner of the All-Russia competition between higher educational institutions «High school of a healthy way of life». The university constantly expands geography of talented youth searching for. Throughout many years on favorable terms in SSAU winners and prize-winners of a regional meeting of student's brigades are accepted.

Today the university puts ambitious, but realistic executable problems. It has a rich potential for this purpose: the human and material resources, the clear understanding how and on that way and the all the new scale, grandiose problems will be solved.
